Mona Ataya

The entrepreneur who founded Mumzworld, the Middle East’s leading mother-and-child e-commerce platform.

Mona Ataya, a Dubai-based entrepreneur of Palestinian-Lebanese background, founded Mumzworld in 2011, building it into the Middle East’s leading mother, baby and child e-commerce platform. Earlier in her career she co-founded the regional online jobs site Bayt.com and worked at Johnson & Johnson.

Under her leadership Mumzworld became the region’s go-to parenting marketplace; in 2021 the Saudi-based Tamer Group acquired the company, and Ataya took on a senior role leading the group’s digital assets. She is a prominent advocate for women in the digital economy and was selected as an UNCTAD “eTrade for Women” advocate for the Arab states.

Ataya has been recognised by Forbes Middle East among the region’s most powerful businesswomen and featured on Gulf Business power lists. She is regularly cited as a leading figure in the Middle East’s e-commerce and women’s-entrepreneurship landscape.
